TV Castings: Sean Hayes, Melanie Griffith Headed to NBC, Fox Comedies
The former "Will & Grace" star will join "Up All Night," while the "Working Girl" star will join "Raising Hope."
Sean Hayes and Melanie Griffith are heading to NBC and Fox, respectively.
Former Will & Grace star Hayes will join NBC's sophomore comedy Up All Night, the network announced, playing Ava's (Maya Rudolph) former accompanist in a multiple-episode arc.
The series starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett was renewed in May for an abbreviated second season return to NBC on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 8:30 p.m.
Hayes, repped by WME, Viewpoint and Ziffren Brittenham, remains busy behind the camera, executive producing TV Land's The Soul Man, Hot in Cleveland and Grimm.

Meanwhile, former Working Girl star Griffith has booked a major arc on Fox's third-year comedy Raising Hope. She'll play Sabrina's (Shannon Woodward) mother.
In addition, Griffith's real-life mother, Tippi Hedren, has also been tapped to guest star in the Season 3 premiere as Sabrina's dead grandmother, Nana, who appears in a video as she reveals her last will and testament.
"As a fan of Melanie Griffith, the actress, I was excited about the possibility of having her on the show, and now that I’ve had the chance to meet Melanie Griffith, the person, I can’t wait to get the chance to work with her,” showrunner Greg Garcia said. "And then Tippi Hedren agrees to play Melanie's mother on the show? Are you kidding? Just two weeks ago, I showed my kids The Birds for the first time. This is a very exciting way for us to start off Season 3.”
Griffith is repped by WME, Untitled Entertainment and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum; Hedren is with McLean Williams Management, Dramatic Artists Agency, Karen Cadle International and Abraxas Talent.
Raising Hope returns Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
