Showtime Renews 'The Real L Word' for Season 3
The third edition will feature new and returning cast members and be filmed in Los Angeles and New York.
Showtime is staying in business with Ilene Chaiken.
The premium cable network has picked up Chaiken's The L Word reality spinoff series The Real L Word for a third season.
Unlike the first two cycles, the show's third year will add New York to its filming locations and revolve around new East Coast cast members and see Los Angeles "fan favorites" -- like Whitney -- return.
The series will continue to explore the lives of lesbians at home and work with Season 3 also said to have big surprises and as well as special guest star appearances throughout the season.

A search for new cast members will start soon on both casts.
“We're excited and gratified to be picking up the stories of our most beloved Season 2 cast members at some truly major and life-altering junctures, and we think it's time to throw down and invite the women of New York to join in and demonstrate the claims they've lobbed at us these past few years … that New York's women have something more to say about lesbian life, something that isn't being said by our Los Angeles ladies,” creator/executive producer Chaiken said in a statement announcing the news. “Bring it on, Brooklyn!”
Production on nine new episodes will begin early next year. The Real L Word is executive produced by Chaiken and Magical Elves' Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz.
