'Weeds' Kevin Nealon and Justin Kirk Discuss Season 7's Successes (Exclusive Video)
In this sneak peek from the upcoming DVD available Feb. 21, guest star Gary Anthony Williams moderates a chat on what made the latest season so special.
There’s no denying that Showtime’s Weeds reinvents itself almost every season. And it did so again on this past season after Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) served some prison time. Though, it kept its themes of self-discovery for the characters both as part of this motley crew of Botwins and outside of it, it certainly took some new turns.

On the upcoming seventh season DVD bonus footage, Gary Anthony Williams, who played Nancy’s tough-loving halfway house director, chatted up stars Kevin Nealon and Justin Kirk about what made the past season so special.
“You know what was great about this season, I thought,” Nealon, who plays the opportunistic Doug, answers. “[It] was not only the three-year jump, but we introduced a lot of new characters. I think the overall tone of the show of the season was a lot more comedic. It was a much lighter season, which was fun.”

Well, Kirk (who plays the loyal Uncle Andy), seems to disagree – mostly, because he wants to give Nealon a hard time… Watch the The Hollywood Reporter’s first look at the DVD bonus footage above.
The seventh season DVD releases on Feb. 21.
