Watch the First Trailer for Showtime's Steve Coogan Comedy 'Happyish'

The comedy, which originally starred Philip Seymour Hoffman, will premiere in April.

Ahead of its April 26 series premiere, Showtime on Friday released the first trailer for its Steve Coogan comedy series Happyish.

Coogan, who replaced the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, stars as Thom Payne, a 44-year-old guy whose world is thrown into disarray when his wunderkind boss arrives and forces Thom to take a good look at his life. The series is described as a comedic, soul-searching examination of our pursuit of happiness and why it continues to be so elusive.

Coogan stars alongside Kathryn Hahn and Bradley Whitford and includes guests such as Ellen Barkin, Carrie Preston and more.

The project was created, written and executive produced by This American Life contributor Shalom AuslanderKen Kwapis (He's Just Not That Into You) also exec produces and directed the pilot alongside producing partner Alexandra Beattie, who will co-EP under their In Cahoots banner.

Happyish debuts Sunday, April 26 at 9:30 p.m. on Showtime.
