Sienna Guillory Exits NBC Drama 'Believe' (Exclusive)
The "Resident Evil" actress' part is being written out of the series.
NBC is making some changes to freshman drama Believe.
The Bad Robot series from writer/EPs Alfonso Cuaron and Mark Friedman is writing Sienna Guillory's hit-woman Moore out of the series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Believe revolves around Bo (newcomer Johnny Sequoyah), a young girl in possession of great powers -- which will come into their own in seven years -- and Tate, the man who is sprung from prison (Savages' Jake McLaughlin) to protect her from those trying to hunt her down.
Guillory (Resident Evil, The Wicked Within) signed on in February as a series regular and appears in the pilot as the first person attempting to kidnap Bo. The role will not be recast.
Producers made the decision not to have the character continue, with the move having no reflection on Guillory's performance. Instead, the series -- greenlit in May -- will go in a different direction and feature a collection of other assassin types hunting Bo and Tate from all over the globe. Should one of those characters catch on, there's a potential for it turn into a recurring role.
Cuaron (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) and Friedman will pen the Warner Bros. Television pilot and executive produce alongside Bad Robot's J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.
It's common for freshman shows to be creatively retooled after the whirlwind pilot shoot as producers have more time to plot out arcs for the series. Believe will begin production later this summer for a midseason premiere following the conclusion of the NFL on Sundays.
