Under the pact, Berg -- who also directs episodes of Silicon Valley -- will develop and supervise new projects for the cable network. The deal continues Berg's relationship with HBO, where he previously was a writer/director/executive producer on Curb Your Enthusiasm for four seasons. More recently, he teamed with Curb star Larry David for the HBO movie Clear History and was lured by the premium cable network to come aboard Silicon Valley after an initial pilot was shot.
Berg's other small-screen credits include exec producing NBC's Seinfeld, working his way up from staff writer. On the film side, he wrote and produced Paramount's The Dictator as well as DreamWorks' Eurotrip.
The writer-producer has shared outstanding comedy series Emmy nominations for his work on Curb in 2008, '10 and '12. He also shared PGA nominations in 2009, '11 and '13 and WGA noms in '98. Berg shared in Seinfeld's Emmy noms for outstanding comedy series for his work on the show in 1997 and '98. He's repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
At HBO, Berg joins a roster of producers with overalls that include Revenge's Mike Kelley, George Mastras, Russell Simmons, Mike White and George R.R. Martin, among others.
