'SNL' 40th Anniversary: Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon Open Special With Tribute Rap (Video)

A beloved character joined them onstage during the performance.

Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon have both been involved with iconic musical numbers on Saturday Night Live over the years, and now they have one more to add to the list. 

The two talented pals kicked off the show's 40th anniversary special with a rap paying tribute to the various famous castmembers and characters who have graced the stage over the years.

Timberlake referenced his "Dick in a Box" sketch by putting a gift-wrapped present in front of his crotch, and when he dropped the box, both guys began singing the theme song from the show's animated "Ambiguously Gay Duo" segments. 

The bit also saw a visit from Molly Shannon's Mary Katherine Gallagher, who got a little support from the guys when she got nervous.
