'Son of Zorn' Mounts Big Comic-Con Push With Rock Climb and Free Fall Jump (Exclusive)
Son of Zorn will have a big presence at Comic-Con – three stories high to be exact.
The upcoming live action/animated hybrid comedy will feature a customized experience at Bayfront Park called the Mount Zephyria Mighty Rock Climb & Free Fall that will let fans climb a three-story-high rock wall and make a free fall jump from the top. The jumps will be captured by cameras to post and share. (See the concept art, below.)
Less daring fans will also be able to ride Zorn’s 10-foot tall Death Hawk, and share photos from their ride. (See the concept art, below.)
The rock climb will be open Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Those who stop by the experience will receive an official Zorn sword and Son of Zorn goblet from Zephyria, among other branded products from the series. Cast members from the series are also expected to make appearances at the experience.
Comic-Con attendees will also be able to communicate directly with Zorn throughout the weekend through Facebook Messenger, where he will give tips on how to survive the convention. Attendees can look for special flyers and posters that allow them to scan a special Facebook code or opening their Messenger app, tap on the people icon and scan the code to start chatting with Zorn right away by messaging @sonofzorn. Beginning Thursday, attendees can also visit https://www.messenger.com/t/sonofzorn/.
From Last Man on Earth duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Son of Zorn centers on animated warrior Zorn (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) who, upon arriving home on Earth for the first time in 10 years, finds that reconnecting with his live-action son, Alan (Johnny Pemberton), and ex-wife, Edie (Cheryl Hines), while suffering through a mundane office job and the banality of suburban life is harder than waging war in his distant mystical homeland of Zephyria.
The Son of Zorn panel is set for Saturday from 5-6 p.m. in the Indigo Ballroom. Stay tuned to The Live Feed for more Comic-Con coverage and click here for a full guide to TV panels.
Son of Zorn premieres Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8:30 p.m. on Fox.
