Sons of Anarchy returns for season five on Sept. 11, and four new promos promise that this season will be an explosive one.

We get our first good looks at Jimmy Smits’ character Nero Padilla, a gangster who gets entangled with Gemma (Katey Sagal) and the club. We also are reminded of the many complicated relationships that will continue to unravel this season, including Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and Clay (Ron Perlman), and Tara (Maggie Siff) and Gemma.
Season five sees Jax taking Clay’s place at the end of the table, leading the California motorcycle club as they deal with plenty of external threats. Namely, Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau), who is planning revenge on SAMCRO for killing his daughter.
