'Sopranos' Alum Drea de Matteo to Star in Lifetime Telepic
UPDATED: She'll play a hot-headed cop with a troubled past in the backdoor pilot from "Last Resort's' David Wiener.
Drea De Matteo is stalking Lifetime.
The former Sopranos actress has been tapped to star in the female-skewing cable network's TV movie Stalkers, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Based on Rhonda Saunders' book Whisper of Fear: The True Story of the Prosecutor Who Stalks the Stalkers, De Matteo will play Diane Harper, the hot-headed cop with a troubled past who teams with a D.A. to bring a stalker obsessed with her former lover to justice.
The two-hour pic, a backdoor pilot for the net that's previously parlayed The Client List into a series, hails from Pilgrim Studios and is being executive produced by Craig Piligian, with Last Resort's David Wiener penning the script.
The Gersh and Untitled-repped De Matteo's credits include Sons of Anarchy, Desperate Housewives and Joey.
