The tattoo industry continues to be big business for Spike TV.

The Viacom-owned cable network has renewed Ink Master: Redemption for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The 13-episode second season will premiere in spring 2016 to coincide with the season-seven launch of Ink Master.

Redemption, hosted by Dave Navarro, centers on participants from the flagship series who left unhappy with their tattoo but return to the shop for a new one. Since its debut on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 11 p.m., the spinoff has averaged a 1.3 rating in adults ages 18-49, making it the highest-rated program on TV in its time slot.

Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Andrea Richter and Navarro serve as executive producers on the series. Original Media (Comic Book Men), a subsidiary of Endemol Shine North America, produces Redemption.

Ink Master has become an important franchise for the channel. The series' impressive ratings, as well as its gender balance, are both notable as Spike dives into new territories like scripted miniseries (Tut) and scripted series (Jerry Bruckheimer's Harvest).
