'Sports Show With Norm Macdonald,' 'Onion SportsDome' Canceled
5:08 PM PDT 6/20/2011 by Lesley Goldberg
Comedy Central opts not to move forward with both series.
It’s game, set and match for Sports Show With Norm Macdonald and Onion SportsDome as Comedy Central has canceled both series.
Sports Show, hosted by the former Saturday Night Live regular, premiered in April to slightly more than 1 million viewers, while SportsDome drew 1.5 million in its January bow.
SportsDome was one of two Onion-themed parody series launching last season; the other, IFC’s Onion News Network, was picked up for a second season.
Comedy Central last week renewed Tosh.0, its Daniel Tosh-hosted satire series for a fourth season.
