Stephen Colbert to Interview Bill Clinton

The chat will take place April 6, and will be broadcast on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" the following week.

Stephen Colbert is sitting down with former President Bill Clinton.

Comedy Central said Monday that The Colbert Report host will interview Clinton for the first time Saturday, April 6, during the closing session of the sixth annual Clinton Global Initiative University, .

The chat will be taped before 1,000 CGI U students and will be broadcast as a special episode during the week of April 8, marking Clinton's first appearance on The Colbert Report.

“I am thrilled and honored to be interviewing President Clinton, and I assume he is aware this is happening," said Colbert.

The Colbert Report is produced by Busboy Productions in association with Spartina Productions. Jon Stewart, Colbert and Tom Purcell are executive producers with Meredith Bennett, Richard Dahm and Barry Julien as co-EPs. Opus Moreschi is head writer, and Jim Hoskinson directs.
