Steven Bochco Sets Legal Drama at ABC
"Legal Affairs" would revolve around the partners and associates at an L.A. law firm and mark the prolific writer’s return to the network.

Steven Bochco is back in business at ABC.
The NYPD Blue co-creator has sold ensemble legal drama Legal Affairs to the network. The drama revolves around partners and associates at a renowned Los Angeles law firm who are tasked with balancing their complicated personal relationships with the demands of their families and high-profile cases.
The project reunites Bochco and with Raising the Bar producer Jonathan Abrahams, who will pen and executive produce the ABC Studios legal drama together.
Gary Fleder is attached to executive produce through his Mojo Films shingle, which also has The Joneses with Life Unexpected’s Liz Tigelaar and Beauty and the Beast with Jericho’s Jonathan E. Steinberg set up at ABC.
Legal Affairs marks Bochco’s return to the network. Bochco’s Commander-in-Chief, starring Geena Davis, aired on the network from 2005 to 2006; ABC also was home to NYPD Blue for 12 seasons from 1993 to 2005, and the short-lived and critically panned police musical Cop Rock in 1990.
