HBO has found its next Steven Soderbergh movie.

The Oscar winner is at work on Mosaic, which will star Sharon Stone. It’s being described as an experimental film, but further details are closely guarded.

"I believe the good people at HBO are genuinely enthusiastic about Mosaic for two reasons: first, it represents a fresh way of experiencing a story and sharing that experience with others; second, it will require a new Emmy category, and we will be the only eligible nominee," said Soderbergh in a statement confirming the mysterious project.

This continues the premium cable network’s relationship with Soderbergh, who won multiple Emmys for his work on the high-profile telepic Behind the Candelabra. More recently, Soderbergh has been part of the awards conversation with The Knick, on HBO sibling Cinemax.

The project comes as Stone is set to star in the drama Agent X on TNT. She’s repped by Gersh, while Soderbergh is at Anonymous Content.
