SundanceTV Reveals Premiere Dates for New Series 'Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter'

The show — featuring interviews with leading Emmy contenders including Amy Schumer, Taraji P. Henson, Viola Davis, Lena Dunham and Ricky Gervais — will air every Sunday starting Aug. 2 leading up to the Primetime Emmy Awards.

SundanceTV on Wednesday announced the premiere dates for its new original nonfiction series Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter, produced in partnership with THR.

The show, featuring THR's Roundtable discussions with this season's leading Emmy contenders, is set to debut Sunday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. ET/PT, and air each Sunday leading up to the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 20. (The show will air at 8 a.m. PT Sundays on satellite systems Dish and DirecTV.) This year's panels included Amy Schumer, Taraji P. Henson, Viola Davis, Ricky Gervais, Lena Dunham, Bob Odenkirk and Fred Armisen, as well as TV creators Lee Daniels, Beau Willimon and Damon Lindelof, among others.

Moderated by THR awards and special projects editor Stacey Wilson, the discussions feature the guests' thoughtful, candid, often hilarious (and sometimes off-color) conversations about the entertainment industry today.

Season one will air in two parts, comprising 14 hourlong episodes in total. The first half of the season will present Roundtables featuring Emmy nominees and other top stars of the year's most buzzed-about shows, while the second half will broadcast in early 2016 in the run-up to the 2016 Academy Awards and feature interviews with Oscar-nominated directors, producers, actors, writers and more.
