Another member of the Lane family is coming to Supergirl.

The new CBS comic book series has just cast 24 alum Glenn Morshower as Gen. Sam Lane, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Morshower, whose character is father to the famous Lois Lane as well Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum), will recur throughout the season.

DC Comics character Gen. Lane is described as a powerful military lifer, and an overprotective dad. His arrival in National City stirs up trouble for Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) when he enlists her in a dangerous government initiative.

Best known for his long-running role as Aaron Pierce on 24, Morshower has also played many different military roles on both TV and in movies. He appeared in three Transformers movies, X-Men: First Class, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, three different Star Trek series and Star Trek: Generations.

Another infamous DC Comics character that will be seen on Supergirl is the Red Tornado. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Salem and Peaky Blinders actor Iddo Goldberg will play both Dr. T.O. Morrow, who creates Red Tornado, the most advanced android the world has ever seen, and the Red Tornado himself.

Designed for the U.S. Army as the ultimate superweapon, the Red Tornado soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City — including the people Supergirl cares about most. It’s unclear as of now how Goldberg will portray both characters, but in the comics, Morrow is a supervillain, while the Red Tornado is a hero in the Justice League.

Supergirl premieres on Monday, Oct. 26, at 8:30 p.m. before moving to its regular time slot at 8 p.m. on Mondays on CBS.
