Discovery Channel Making SXSW Debut With 'Deadliest Catch' (Exclusive Video)
Captains Sig Hansen, Johnathan Hillstrand and Keith Colburn will take part in a March 9 panel, with a concert planned for later that night.
Discovery Channel is making its debut at SXSW this year.
The network has set a panel discussion for the 20th Annual SXSW Interactive Festival titled "Deadliest Catch's Twitter for Tough Guys" featuring Captains Sig Hansen, Johnathan Hillstrand and Keith Colburn, the stars of its hit series.
STORY: Discovery Renews 'Gold Rush' for Fourth Season
The trio will discuss the role social media has played in their relationship with fans during the panel and also offer an in-depth look at the role social media has played in the series, which returns in April.
Attendees also will see an exclusive world premiere clip from the ninth season of Deadliest Catch. The panel is set for 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Hyatt Regency Austin. (More details can be found here.)
Additionally, the network and the three stars will host a free Captains' Concert at 8 p.m. that night at Stubb's featuring live performances from Black Pistol Fire, Quiet Company and The Tontons. Space will be limited; attendees can register here.
