Syfy's 'Defiance' Heads to Amazon
The first season of the dystopian alien drama is available ahead of its June 19 season two premiere.
Syfy's ambitious alien drama Defiance is now available on Amazon.
Subscriber's to Amazon Prime can now watch the first season of Defiance exclusively through Prime Instant Video. That gives newcomers and existing fans a little more than two months to catch up on the 13-episode debut season before the series' season two premiere on June 19.
Defiance joins Amazon's library through an extensive content deal with NBCUniversal announced in May 2013. Other series available through the pact include Universal's Suits and NBC's Grimm.
A dystopian drama set in the year 2046 when aliens coexist with humans, Defiance was a big bet for NBCU when it premiered exactly one year ago on April 15 to 2.7 million viewers. NBCU simultaneously launched a massively multiplayer video game set in the same world as the series. The combined price tag for both projects was nearly $100 million.
The series will be available to stream on Amazon's recently unveiled Fire TV, the Kindle Fire tablet, iPad, Roku and other connected TVs and devices.
