'The Talk': Holly Robinson Peete 'Moving On' From Show
The actress says fans "deserve a reason or some acknowledgment" about the dismissals of herself and Leah Remini.
Holly Robinson Peete isn't letting The Talk keep her down.
After weeks of what she termed "limbo," CBS informed the actress at the beginning of the month that her contract had not been picked up for the second season of the CBS morning show.
More than a week later, Peete says she's still baffled why she and co-host Leah Remini were let go but is moving on. She told E! Online, "To be quite honest no, we have not heard a reason, and that kind of makes it a little more frustrating. I've been around long enough in this business to know that, sometimes, you don't get a reason. You just pick up and keep moving."
Peete says fans of The Talk deserve an explanation of the show's changes, "Our loyal viewers, especially the mom bloggers and some of the audience that we really built our core base on, I think they deserve a reason or some acknowledgment."
The revamped Talk began its second season Sept. 6 with Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert continuing as hosts along with new addition Sheryl Underwood and guest host Molly Shannon. Keeping Up With the Kardashians matriarch Kris Jenner is also lined up for a guest stint.
Before The Talk, Peete starred in several TV series, including Love, Inc., Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, and 21 Jump Street. She also appeared on the third season of Celebrity Apprentice last year, finishing as the runner-up to winner Bret Michaels. She also created the HollyRod Foundation, which provides support for families with autism.
