'Teen Wolf': Watch the First Eight Minutes of MTV's Reboot (Video)
MTV has released the first eight minutes of its reboot of Teen Wolf, which is getting prime real estate Sunday night after the MTV Movie Awards.
The Hollywood Reporter recently chatted with MTV exec David Janollari about the reasoning behind adapting the Teen Wolf movie for the small screen. With MTV ramping up its scripted slate (it has recently aired the controversial Skins and The Hard Times of R.J. Berger), Janollari said Teen Wolf is an appropriate title for their target audience: the millennials.
"They watch movies; they watch entertainment on the Internet," Janollari explained. "Our idea is to offer original series programming in whatever form it takes to this audience with the core brand of DNA of what's relevant to their lives."
"No one has really done the wolf," he said when asked how Teen Wolf will stand out from the other supernatural TV/film properties. "We've already taken the wolf and done a deep dive into the mythology. The series is a total reimagination of the '80s movie."
Janollari also offered the possibility that Jason Bateman, who starred in the 1985 film, could appear in the series' second season should it be renewed.

Teen Wolf, which stars newcomers Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien and Crystal Reed, airs Part 1 of its two-part premiere Sunday at 11 p.m. on MTV. Part 2 airs the following night in its regular time slot: 10 p.m. on Mondays.
