BBC America's New Fantasy Drama 'The Fades' Trailer Debuts (Exclusive Video)
From "Skins" writer Jack Thorne, the series launches in the U.S. on Jan. 14.
BBC America is banking on a new fantasy property from the writer of the original Skins series to boost its Saturday lineup when 2012 hits and The Hollywood Reporter has the exclusive first look at the U.S. trailer.
From Jack Thorne, The Fades centers on 17-year-old geek Paul (Iain De Caestecker), haunted by apocalyptic dreams that even his therapist, his best friend Mac (Daniel Kaluuya) and his cool twin sister Anna (Skins' Lily Loveless) can't explain.
Things hit a snag when Paul's visions actually become real and his desire to fit in gets pushed to the side; instead, he finds himself in the middle of a fight with the undead. "Fades" in this case are the ghosts and spirits of human beings.
The Fades, co-starring Natalie Dormer (The Tudors), launches in the U.S. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 9 p.m.
"It's about fairly ordinary people, none of these people act or behave like they're superheroes," Thorne said of the series. "The Fades is about the world itself being an extraordinary thing and how you battle it. This old school fantasy element combined with some pretty original characters."
Following The Fades is a Nerdist television special that also includes an interview with Loveless.
