Holly Robinson Peete Jokes Kim Kardashian's Movie Role Has 'Blacktresses' Upset
The former "The Talk" co-host says she approves of the reality star's move into film after the controversy of her divorce, but others aren't taking it so well.
Holly Robinson Peete is experiencing a career resurgence just a few months after CBS decided not to renew her contract on The Talk.
She’s opened up about her unexpected boot from the show and her new recurring role on Mike & Molly with The Hollywood Reporter, and now she’s appearing on Access Hollywood Live and weighing in on Kim Kardashian’s move to the big screen with Tyler Perry’s The Marriage Counselor.

“It’s [an] amazing PR move,” Peete says on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “It’s actually pretty smart and the timing is great. Like her brand, this drama will be good for the film. So, it’s actually kind of brilliant in a way… I don’t have any problems with it.”
The move may not bother Peete, but apparently the self-professed Armenian Princess’ casting has ruffled some feathers among African American actresses who expect Perry to keep a few sisters employed.
“We can always count on Tyler Perry to give a ‘blacktress’ a job,” Peete jokes. “So, all across the world ‘blacktresses’ are upset.”

Well, those actresses will have to deal: Kardashian was set to report to the movie’s set on Wednesday. The E! reality star turned actress, who filed for divorce last week from Kris Humphries 72 days after their televised August wedding, plays Ava, coworker to the lead character, Judith (Jurnee Smollett).
