'The Voice' Introduces Voting Via New Facebook App

As NBC’s The Voice hits its live shows on Monday, the competition will be introducing a new way for viewers to interact with the show in a partnership with Facebook beginning Monday.

The network announced on Friday that it’s introducing a new Facebook app, which allows viewers to cast their vote for the performers and share it with their friends and other viewers on a timeline. It will also be compatible with the Facebook app on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
"What better show to launch a new Facebook timeline experience with than The Voice?" NBC Universal Digital Entertainment President Vivi Zigler says. "This app gives our already socially savvy fans another way to connect and share. From declaring their favorite artist to discovering friends' preferences to interacting with more content, the app creates a fully social online voting experience."
Aside from voting via the app and sharing the experience with others, the timeline will also help users discover more show content including performance videos and blogs.

During the competition’s first season, NBC has made social media outreach an important facet of the show and it has recognized its role in helping to make it successful.
On Thursday, THR first reported that the series’ social media correspondent, Christina Milian, will host an after show on Mondays in which she’ll interview the performers, coaches, and guest celebrities. Fans will be able to submit questions at NBC.com, Facebook, and on Twitter.
Fox’s The X Factor also recognized the importance of social media interaction in its first season when it introduced voting via Twitter giving its viewers a total of five different ways to vote for their favorite performers.
The Voice live performance shows air Mondays with the results shows airing Tuesdays – both at 8 p.m. on NBC.
