TLC Orders Cheerleading Series From Producers of 'Honey Boo Boo' (Exclusive)

The cable network has ordered eight episodes of "Cheer Perfection," the Arkansas-based effort that first aired in July as a special.

TLC is going back into business with the producers of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, ordering the similarly themed Cheer Perfection to series.

The network, which scored a whopping 2.2 million viewers with the premiere of Toddlers & Tiaras spinoff Honey Boo Boo this month, has ordered eight episodes of the cheerleading docuseries that follows Arkansas-based champion cheerleading coach Alisha Dunlap as she trains young girls under the watchful eyes of their mothers.

TLC has ordered eight hourlong episodes from Authentic Entertainment, producers of both Honey Boo Boo and Toddlers & Tiaras, after its one-off July 11 special collected 1.1 million viewers.

While drawing mixed reviews from critics, docuseries like Honey Boo Boo have proven to be continued ratings draw for the network.
