In less than a week, the fifth season of True Blood will wrap up with what looks like a very dramatic finale.

Alan Ball’s final season as showrunner has been full of crazy storylines, with Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) finding out that their parents weren’t killed by a flash flood, but rather a vampire. And Bill (Stephen Moyer) seems to have lost his way, siding with the Vampire Authority, which plans to take over the world with the blood-covered naked goddess Lilith leading the charge.

The promo for the finale (watch below) shows that Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) will embark on a final, desperate mission to overthrow the Authority, while Jason suits up for his own mission against the Vampire Authority.

“The time for tolerance is over,” says Jason.

Will Eric be able to save Bill from his turn to the dark side? How will Sam (Sam Trammell) get out of the Vampire Authority compound? Can Alcide (Joe Manganiello) go up against that V-drinking pack master and win? Most importantly, who will survive the war between human and vampires?

True Blood’s fifth season finale airs Sunday, Aug. 26 at 9 p.m.
