In the True Blood season 4 premiere, Sookie (Anna Paquin) and the audience learned that she had been away for more than a year. A lot has changed it that time and in Episode 2, titled “You Smell Like Dinner,” we all learn a lot more about what has transpired during the one-year time jump.

In the preview clips below, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) offers Sookie his protection, but the price may not be something she wants to pay. She’ll also discover that Bill (Stephen Moyer) isn’t exactly pining away for her. And in a third clip, we get a sense of just how bad human-vampire relations have become.

New episodes of True Blood air Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
