Patrick will first appear in a flashback episode that depicts Alcide (Joe Manganiello) and Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan) as teenagers in the 1980s. At the time, Jackson was said to be a "powerful, inspiring and heroic" guy, but in the present, he's given up on life.
Jackson, as a way to repay his father's debt to Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), also stands as the reason that Alcide first agreed to help Sookie (Anna Paquin) search for Bill (Stephen Moyer) during Season 3.
He's scheduled to make his debut in Episode 9, slated to air Aug. 5 and titled "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." Patrick is slated to appear in three episodes.

In addition to appearing in True Blood, Patrick will next be seen in ABC's upcoming freshman drama Last Resort, in which he plays the master chief of a NATO sub in the series from Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Terriers).
Patrick is repped by Gersh and the Coronel Group.
Fan site True-Blood.net first reported the news.
True Blood airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO. Last Resort debuts in the fall on ABC.
