TV Ratings: 'America's Got Talent' Dominates Tuesday

"MasterChef" improves 17 percent and is the series' highest-rated Tuesday telecast so far this season.

America's Got Talent towered over its competition on Tuesday.

Three hours of NBC's summer reality staple averaged 14.4 million total viewers and a 4.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. Talent rose double digits compared to last Tuesday's telecast, easily powering NBC for the nightly win in viewers and the key demo.

Fox's MasterChef (4.8 million, 2.1) at 9 p.m. improved 17 percent from last week's comparable episode and is the series' highest-rated Tuesday telecast so far this season in both viewers and the demo.

Meanwhile, ABC's summer programs 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show (4.9 million, 1.9) and scripted drama Combat Hospital (4.3 million, 1.1.) remained steady.

At 10 p.m., CBS' 48 Hour Mystery special (5.5 million, 1.2) on the Casey Anthony case narrowly beat out Combat Hospital in the demo to place second behind Talent. Anthony was acquitted of murder early Tuesday afternoon, a verdict that surprised many.
