TV Ratings: 'America's Got Talent' Loses Zero Steam in Week 2
With its second nightly win in a row, NBC swept up Tuesday with a new America's Got Talent.
The competition scored a rare feat, losing none of its formidable premiere haul from a week ago. The two-hour episode averaged a 2.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 12.2 million viewers. Those enviable scores come a week after the show premiered with 100 percent retention from its 2016 summer opener.
Newcomer World of Dance lost a little bit of its excellent premiere, shedding half of a ratings point in the key demo, but its 1.9 rating among adults 18-49 still far outpaced most other broadcast reality shows. The show lost less steam among total viewers, averaging 8.5 million viewers.
Competition was slim for NBC. ABC offered up an even Downward Dog (0.7 adults), while the CW put on a new iZombie (0.4 adults) and CBS had a new 48 Hours: NCIS (0.5 adults).
