TV Ratings: 'Big Brother' Tops Wednesday
Viewers start to check out before the holiday weekend, and the dominant CBS show suffers the biggest dip.
With many viewers already stepping away from the television for the Fourth of July holiday weekend, usage among adults 18-49 dropped 4 percent from last Wednesday night.
Most original episodes were steady or within a tenth of a point of last week's showings, though Big Brother dropped a hearty half of a ratings point from last Wednesday's season opener on CBS. Still winning the night, Big Brother nabbed a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers.
So You Think You Can Dance (1.3 adults), steady with last week's showing, was the other big player for the night — though NBC import Taxi Brooklyn (1.1 adults) did manage to improve a tenth of a point from last week's series premiere, despite no original lead-in.
