TV Ratings: CBS Wins Monday with Flat 'Under the Dome,' 'Mistresses' Returns With Series Low
NBC's "Get Out Alive" and "American Ninja Warrior" were down while The CW was steady.
CBS' Under the Dome was Monday night's most watched new broadcast, with an average of 10.3 million viewers and a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49. This week's broadcast was up a tenth of a point from last week in the all-important demo despite an ongoing carriage dispute with Time Warner Cable that has the network blacked out for 3.2 million viewers, including those in key markets in New York, Dallas and L.A. The blackout so far hasn't had a noticeable impact on ratings.
The network also won the night with an average of 6.2 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults, virtually the same showing as last week.
NBC finished third for the night among adults (following Univision) with new episodes of American Ninja Warrior (1.5 rating among adults 18-49), Get Out Alive (1.2) and Siberia (0.7). While Siberia's adults rating was flat, Get Out Alive was down two-tenths of a point from last week, posting a series low, and American Ninja Warrior was down a tenth of a point. The network scored a 1.1 rating among adults, down a tenth of a point from last week, with an average of 3.5 million viewers.
ABC's first new episode of Mistresses since the end of July scored a 1.0 rating among adults, down three-tenths of a point from its last broadcast, and a low for the series. The network aired two hours of encore programming before that and finished with a 0.9 rating and an average of 3.9 million viewers for the night.
Mistresses was off for the past two weeks, replaced by Bachelorette finale programming and the annual CMA Music Festival. That three-hour country music event averaged 8.2 million viewers and posted a 2.0 rating last week.
Fox aired a night of comedy encores, finishing fifth among adults with a 0.7 rating and an average of 1.6 million viewers, roughly the same as its showing last week.
The CW's Breaking Pointe scored a 0.2 rating among adults and the network posted a 0.2 rating for the night, with an average of 715,000 viewers. Despite attracting more total viewers, The CW's rating in the all-important 18-49 demo was flat compared with last week.
