TV Ratings: 'Desperate Housewives' Grows as End Nears, 'Amazing Race' Also Rises
The outgoing ABC drama posts a 12 percent gain among adults 18-49, while the CBS competition show jumps for an even showing with last spring's finale and freshman "GCB" ends flat.
Fast affiliate ratings give ABC an easy demo win Sunday night, with the network scoring a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 7.6 million viewers. A rising America's Funniest Home Videos, up half of a point, started the night at 8 p.m. with a 2.0 with 18-49-ers, followed by an even Once Upon a Time at 3.0 and a buoyed Desperate Housewives, up three-tenths of a point for a 2.8 as its series finale approaches. Bubble show GCB ended its freshman season even with a 1.8 in the demo.
CBS saw similar growth at 7 p.m., with 60 Minutes jumping four-tenths of a point to a 1.6 among 18-49. The drama saw a one-tenth bump over last week, pulling a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49. Overall, CBS topped in viewers with 9.3 million and placed second in the demo with a 2.0 rating.
A repeat of The Simpsons led into a relatively even showing from Fox's animation block. The Cleveland Show was down a tenth a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49, with Simpsons down to a 2.1. Bob's Burgers and Family Guy also slipped a tenth of a point, for a respective 1.8 and 2.7, while American Dad returned with a 15 percent jump for a 2.3 in the demo. Fox nabbed a 1.9 adults rating for the night and 4.1 million viewers.
