Steady was the watchword for ABC on Wednesday night, winning the adults 18-49 demo race with even outings of The Goldbergs (2.1 adults), Modern Family (2.9 adults), Black-ish (2.0 adults) and Nashville (1.3 adults). The Middle even managed to start the night with some improvement, up two-tenths of a point from the previous week with a 2.0 rating in the key demo.

Survivor (2.1 adults) fell three-tenths of a point on CBS, as did Criminal Minds (1.7 adults) and CSI Cyber (1.2 adults) — all either tying or hitting a new same-day low.

American Idol was stable, if slightly improved, with an average 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 during its two-hour telecast.

Dick Wolf drama synergy continued to bring ratings boosts to NBC. Crossover episodes of Chicago P.D. (1.8 adults) and Law & Order: SVU (2.0 adults) rose a respective three- and two-tenths of a point.

Arrow (0.8 adults) fell two-tenths of a point on the CW ahead of an even Supernatural (0.7 adults).
