TV Ratings: Dramas Sink on Debate Night

'Big Brother' holds its broadcast lead on Thursday night, but scripted fare falters against the GOP coverage.

A lot of eyes were likely fixed on cable last night, as Fox News presented the first GOP presidential debate in primetime. Those numbers will be available later on Friday, but they don't appear to have hurt Big Brother. The CBS series was steady with the previous Thursday outing, averaging a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49.

Lead-out Under the Dome dropped two-tenths of a point from the previous week, averaging a 0.8 rating in the key demo.

At least that was better than the night's other scripted fare. The ABC trio of Astronaut Wives Club, Mistresses and Rookie Blue all averaged a 0.6 rating in the key demo — with Wives dropping two-tenths of a point from the previous week.

Both Food Fighters and Dateline Mystery were steady on NBC, averaging a respective 0.9 and 1.1 rating among adults 18-49.

An even Beauty and the Beast (0.2 adults) led into the final two episodes of the CW's Dates — which pulled respective 0.1 and 0.2 ratings in the key demo.
