TV Ratings: 'Expedition Impossible' Premieres Solid
The combination of Mark Burnett's new travel adventure show and "Wipeout" propel ABC to win the night.
ABC easily won Thursday night with a 2.1 rating in the all important 18-49 demo. The network premiered Mark Burnett's Expedition Impossible, which has been called Amazing Race "without all the fun," and it did decently averaging a 3.1 demo rating that marked an increase from its Wipeout lead-in (2.9 rating) in the demo. Expedition Impossible averaged seven million viewers, retaining most of the audience from the 8 p.m. hour with Wipeout, which averaged 7.5 million viewers -- more than Fox's So You Think You Can Dance results show. SYTYCD was down 14 percent from last week, which the net attributes to a 20 percent decline among men 18-49, who may have tuned into the NBA draft on cable instead.
NBC's Love Bites continues to plummet. Thursday's episode of the Becki Newton starrer was down 20 percent with a 0.8 demo and 2 million viewers.
