TV Ratings: 'Family Guy' Grows, CBS Sunday Gets NCAA Basketball Boost
The Fox comedy tops series in adults 18-49, ABC's "Once Upon a Time" hits another low and early returns for March Madness overrun drive the Eye to a nightly win.
CBS saw a big boost from the 2013 NCAA Basketball tournament on Sunday night. While time-zone adjustments should see final numbers looking somewhat different, an overrun lead of a 4.1 rating with adults 18-49 and 13.1 million viewers saw the rest of the lineup -- 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, The Good Wife and The Mentalist -- jump accordingly. The network averaged a 2.4 rating in the key demo and 10.1 million viewers in Fast National returns.
Encores of Bob's Burger's, The Cleveland Show and The Simpsons led into an even original of Bob's Burgers (1.7 adults) on Fox. Family Guy (2.6 adults) was up two tenths of a point at 9 p.m., topping all entertainment broadcasts for the night. American Dad (2.3 adults) was also up, by four tenths of a point, giving the network an average 1.7 rating with adults 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers.
On ABC, America's Funniest Home Videos (1.3 adults) was off a tenth of a point from its last original. Once Upon a Time (2.1 adults) was also down, dropping two tenths of a point to another series low. Revenge (1.8 adults) held its recent score, and Red Widow (1.2 adults) moved up by two tenths of a point. The network averaged a 1.6 rating in the demo and 6.2 million viewers.
Dateline (1.1 adults) and The Celebrity Apprentice (1.5 adults) were both down, by a respective two and three tenths of a point. NBC averaged a 1.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers.
