TV Ratings: Lady Gaga, 'Glee' and 'X-Factor' Steamrolled by Thanksgiving Football
NBC's special outing for "Sunday Night Football" tops broadcast competition, though "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" sees year-to-year lifts on ABC.
Capping off a Thanksgiving Day filled with football, the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers closed out the day's games with a special showing of NBC's Sunday Night Football. Preliminary returns give the network an average 5.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 17.6 million viewers for the primetime block, which also included a half-hour of Football Night in America.
CBS saw a strong lift from a half-hour of football overage, making its primetime score (average 2.1 adults rating, 7.4 million viewers) tentative ahead of adjustments. The network aired all repeats, either way.
ABC won the two-way originals race with Fox. The network aired its annual Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1.6 adults), up a dramatic 45 percent from last year. After an encore of Modern Family, special Lady Gaga & the Muppets' Holiday Spectacular failed to move the dial much. The 90-minute show averaged a 0.9 rating with adults 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers. The network took a 1.2 adults rating and 4.2 million viewers for the night.
Fox saw low showings for The X Factor (1.0 adults) and Glee (0.9 adults), which gave the network a 0.9 adults rating and 3.3 million viewers for the night.
The movie You Again averaged a 0.2 adults rating and 1.1 million viewers on the CW.
