TV Ratings: CBS Retains Tuesday Win, 'Mindy Project,' 'Ben and Kate' Dip

CBS nabbed another win in the key adults 18-49 demographic and total viewers on Tuesday night thanks to strong (if lower) showings from its three dramas: NCIS (down 12 percent to a 3.6 rating), NCIS: LA (down nine percent to a 3.1) and Vegas (down 16 percent to a 2.1) all topped their hours, contributing to the network's average 2.9 rating and 15.1 million viewers.

The Voice had a recap episode on NBC. That posted a 2.9 rating, giving a softer lead to the comedies Go On (2.2 rating) and The New Normal (1.7 rating). Both of the renewed series dropped from last week, but Normal held 77 percent of its lead, a new high. Parenthood was down a tenth of a point to a 1.7 rating in adults 18-49. The network averaged a 2.2 rating and 6 million viewers.

Raising Hope took a steep drop from fall 2011's premiere, which benefited from a New Girl lead. The series opened to a 1.7 rating, dropping nearly a point and a half. Ben and Kate also dropped from last week's premiere, falling 24 percent to a 1.6 rating. New Girl was steady, posting a 2.8 rating, while The Mindy Project fell 21 percent from its premiere to a 1.9 rating. The network averaged a 2.0 rating and 3.99 million viewers.

ABC's Dancing With the Stars results show was even with last week's 2.1 rating in the demo, while Private Practice dropped 16 percent to a 1.6 rating at 10 p.m. The network averaged a 1.7 and 8.7 million viewers.

Hart of Dixie returned to The CW relatively even with its series premiere last year, positing a 0.7 rating in the demo. The Next had a 0.3 rating a 9 p.m.
