TV Ratings: 'Modern Family,' With Minor Boost, Wins Wednesday
"American Idol" gives Fox a nightly win, but at another low for the night, while NBC's "Prince Harry" special makes little noise.
American Idol propelled Fox to a nightly win in both adults 18-49 and total viewers on Wednesday, though the 2.1 demo rating (off a tenth) marked a series low showing for the night. Fox took 9.2 million viewers during its two-hour primetime block.
The Middle (1.9 adults) dropped a tenth of a point on ABC, while Suburgatory (1.4 adults) dropped two-tenths to tie a series low. The original lead-in helped Mixology (1.7 adults) recover half of a point from last week, and Nashville (1.3 adults) dropped a tenth to tie a low as well.
ABC averaged a 1.8 rating with adults under 50 and 6.1 million viewers for the night.
Survivor, CBS' lone original for the night, dropped two-tenths of a point from last week for a 2.3 rating in the demo. CBS took a 1.7 rating with adults 18-49 and 8.2 million viewers for the night.
With originals in repeats as well, NBC aired the special Prince Harry's South Pole Heroes to the tune of a 0.8 rating in the key demo. The network averaged the same number for the night, also pulling in 3.4 million viewers.
