TV Ratings: NBA Finals Still on Top as Spurs Widen Lead Over Heat
Game four falls a shade from the comparable outing last year—but there's no real competition on the broadcast networks, where the Spurs' dominance is still good business for ABC.
Thursday was ABC's, with another night of the NBA Finals driving an easy victory across all of TV—even as the competition veers more in the San Antonio Spurs favor, now holding a 3:1 tournament lead over the Miami Heat.
After three very steady games, game four is down a shade from last year's showing—with a preliminary 5.2 rating among adults 18-49. (Last year's game fetched a 5.8 rating ahead of adjustments.) Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night, again averaging a 1.9 rating in the key demo, held even Tuesday's showing.
All in all, ahead of finals, ABC averaged a 4.2 rating with adults 18-49 and 10.6 million viewers.
Fox fetched a distant second place for the evening with steady outings of both Hell's Kitchen (1.6 adults) and Gang Related (0.8 adults).
Over on NBC, Hollywood Game Night (1.0 adults), Undateable (1.0 adults; 0.9 adults) both held steady with their most recent outings, while Last Comic Standing (1.2 adults) fell two-tenths of a point.
