TV Ratings: 'NCIS' Hits 200 With Tuesday Win, 'The River' Has a Muddy Debut
The CBS drama celebrates its bicentennial, dominating in the key demo and total viewers, while the ABC horror series hits time slot highs but doesn't get off to the most auspicious of starts.
More than eight years after premiering to just 13 million viewers and declining over the course of its freshman season, NCIS, now TV's dominant drama, rung in 200 episodes Tuesday night with 20.8 million viewers and a 4.1 rating among adults 18-49.
According to fast affiliate ratings, it was an easy win for the procedural, steady with its last original outing. NCIS propelled CBS to win the night, scoring a 3.1 rating in the demo and 16.2 million viewers. NCIS: Los Angeles pulled in 3.1 in 18-49-ers, while Unforgettable nabbed a 2.2.

Fox came in second a close second among adults, with Glee down half a point from last week's Michael Jackson episode. The show brought in a 3.2 for the hour, followed by an even New Girl (3.5 in adults) and a boosted Raising Hope (up 10 percent for a 2.2 in the demo). The network averaged a 3.0 and 6.8 million viewers.
Back-to back-episodes of Last Man Standing were both down a touch on ABC, with the two originals earning a 2.3 and 2.5 in the key demo during the 8:00 p.m. hour. The comedy led into the two-hour premiere of The River, which, while soft in its returns and declining every half hour, still topped last season's comparable mid-season time slot entry, Off The Map.
The River pulled in a 2.4 among adults 18-49, with a 2.5 at 9:00 p.m. and a 2.2 at 10:00 p.m.., and gave the net its strongest showing in the time slot since the fall finale of Dancing With the Stars. ABC averaged a 2.4 among 18-49-ers for the night and 7.6 million viewers.
The Biggest Loser posted a 5 percent gain on NBC for a 2.2 in the demo, while Parenthood dipped to a 1.6, down a tenth of a point from its last original in mid-January. The net averaged a 2.0 among adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers.
Over on The CW, 90210 was steady at 0.7 among adults, while Ringer fell to a 0.5.
