TV Ratings: 'Ninja Warrior' and 'MasterChef' Make Steady Returns

Summer premieres continue, with NBC also launching the third year of 'Night Shift.'

NBC won the first Wednesday of the summer with another block of all new programming.

American Ninja Warrior, topping broadcast for the night, led with a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers over the course of its two-hour premiere. It was partnered with the third-season bow of Night Shift, off from its sophomore debut score, which premiered to a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49.

Fox kicked off the latest run of MasterChef. The culinary competition averaged a steady 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, in line with the summer 2015 kickoff, and aired alongside an even Wayward Pines (0.9 adults).

500 Questions wrapped its weeklong run on ABC with an even 0.8 rating among adults 18-49, with repeats filling the rest of the night.
