TV Ratings: 'Pretty Little Liars' Boosted by Most Watched Summer Finale
The Tuesday closer delivers 3.3 million viewers, with rookie drama "Twisted" seeing a small jump.

ABC Family's mystery drama delivered on all fronts Tuesday, with a season-best 3.3 million total viewers at 8 p.m. That is a 1 million jump from its penultimate episode and is the most watched summer finale for Pretty Little Liars to date. It is also the most watched episode in the past two seasons, since the season-two finale in March 2012.
Pretty Little Liars also posted season highs in several demographics, including adults 18-34 (1.4 million), women 18-34 (1.2 million), adults 18-49 (1.8 million), women 18-49 (1.5 million), viewers 12-34 (2.3 million) and women 12-34 (2 million).
Pretty Little Liars' summer finale was also Tuesday's top broadcast overall among adults 18-34, ABC Family touts.
Over on the social media front, Pretty Little Liars' "Now You See Me, Now You Don't" was the most tweeted episode to date, delivering 1.89 million tweets by 637,000 users, averaging 10,000 tweets per minute. During the final moments of the episode, Twitter usage peaked at 70,000 tweets per minute.
Pretty Little Liars receives a big DVR boost, with the series improving 60 percent in Live+7 to roughly 4 million viewers per week.
Rookie drama Twisted saw a slight improvement from the previous week, but didn't see a dramatic jump following Pretty Little Liars, delivering 1.6 million viewers at 9 p.m. About 743,000 of them were adults 18-49.
Pretty Little Liars' Halloween special airs Oct. 22 on ABC Family, with Twisted returning in 2014.
