The first night of December wasn't a very crowded one on the broadcast networks. A steady episode of The Voice, averaging a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49, led the minimal competition for NBC. State of Affairs (1.6 adults) posted the night's lone improvement of note: two-tenths of a point after last week's substantial drop.

ABC had a steady outing of annual holiday special CMA Country Christmas (1.6 adults) before a new Castle. The latter, averaging a 1.5 in the key demo, was off two-tenths of a point from last week.

The midseason finale of Sleepy Hollow pulled a steady 1.5 rating with adults 18-49 on Fox, sans its Gotham lead-in. And, on The CW, Greatest Holiday Commercial Countdown pulled a 0.4. (CBS aired repeats of Mike & Molly in anticipation of next Monday's return to the schedule.)
