TV Ratings: 'Hotel Hell' Tops 'Stars Earn Stripes,' 'Grimm' Boosted in Monday Move

New reality offerings from Fox and NBC stage OK debuts, while the first official premiere of the fall season approaches a high in the key demo.

After two weeks of unstoppable Olympic momentum, NBC ceded its ratings crown to Fox on Monday night. With the premiere of Gordon Ramsay's Hotel Hell and the return of original broadcasts of Hell's Kitchen, Fox averaged a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers for the night.

Hotel Hell, which earned a 1.9 adults rating at 8 p.m., ranks as the highest rated new broadcast series of the summer among adults 18-49 -- though that distinction carries little weight this year. Hell's Kitchen topped all other programs during the night. It was up a tenth of a point from it's last original, posting a 2.7 adults rating.

NBC kicked off the heavily promoted Stars Earn Stripes at 8 p.m. The two-hour broadcast pulled a relatively soft 1.7 rating among adults 18-49. Grimm fared much better. The season two premiere, which sees an early run of originals over the next three Mondays, was up 25 percent from its last episode. Its first Monday broadcast pulled a 2.0 rating among 18-49-ers, winning the 10 p.m. hour. It was down just a tenth of a point from its series premiere last fall, making it the second highest rated episode to date. The network averaged a 1.8 adults rating and 5.3 million viewers.

Sharing third place in the demo, Univision and CBS both averaged a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49. Encores of its comedy block and Hawaii Five-0 also earned CBS 4.9 million viewers.

Bachelor Pad, still down from last summer, saw growth without Olympic competition. The dating show was up nine percent from last week for a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. The Glass House was up a tenth of a point for a 0.7 adults rating, giving ABC an average 1.1 rating in the demo and 3.4 million viewers for the night.

An episode of Remodeled pulled just a 0.1 adults rating on the CW. The network averaged a 0.2 adults rating and 606,000 viewers.
