TV Ratings: 'Switched at Birth' Is ABC Family's Most-Watched Series Debut Ever
The show, which centers on two teenage girls who discover that they were switched at birth, set several ratings records for the cable network.
ABC Family's Switched at Birth got off to a great start Monday night.
The series, which aired at 9 p.m., became ABC Family's No. 1 series debut of all time in total viewers (3.3 million), adults 18-34 (1 million), women 18-34 (754,000), adults 18-49 (1.7 million) and women 18-49 (1.3 million).
Including a repeat at 10 p.m., the premiere was seen by 4.9 million total viewers on Monday.
Overall, the show was cable's No. 1 scripted telecast for the night among total viewers, adults 18-34 and adults 18-49.
Switched at Birth centers on two teenage girls who discover that they were switched at birth in the hospital. The show stars Katie Leclerc, Vanessa Marano, Lea Thompson, D.W. Moffett, Marlee Matlin, Lucas Grabeel, Constance Marie and Sean Berdy.
