TV Ratings: 'X Factor' and Steady 'Bones' Put Fox on Top, 'Community' Hits Two Month High
Elimination night was up from its last Thursday broadcast, with "Bones" delivering consistent numbers and NBC's soon-to-be-sidelined comedy getting its best showing since September.
Thursday saw a shift in power from the last regular night of programming two weeks ago, thanks in large part to a block of repeats from CBS.
Fox won the night with the X Factor results show and a new episode of Bones. X Factor was up a tenth in the desirable adults 18-49 set, bringing in a 3.1 rating for its 8:00 p.m. broadcast. Bones, in its fourth outing of the season, matched its previous broadcast's scores. It won the 9:00 p.m. hour with a 2.8 rating in the demo. The net averaged 3.0 for the night.

ABC's broadcast of the CMA Country Christmas boosted the network to a second place finish in adults 18-49, averaging a 2.1 rating. A broadcast of Santa Claus is Coming to Town (2.2 rating) led into the two-hour musical special, which averaged a 2.1 rating among the key demo between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
The block of repeats from CBS -- The Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, Person of Interest, The Mentalist -- narrowly topped NBC's original offerings for the night. The net averaged a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49, powered by the 8:00 p.m. encore of Big Bang, which brought in a 2.9. It tied The Office for second highest showing of the night in the demo.
On NBC, Community posted its strongest showing among adults 18-49 since Sept. 29 with a 1.7 rating. Parks and Recreation built on its lead-in but was down two tenths from its last original broadcast to a 1.8 rating in the demo. The Office matched its latest performance with a 2.9 among 18-49-ers, as did Whitney with its 1.9. Prime Suspect averaged a 1.3, up an inconsequential two tenths from its last showing.
For the CW, repeats of The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle brought in two solid hours of a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49.
