TV Ratings: ABC's 'Work It' Premieres Lower than Canceled Predecessor 'Man Up'
Faring worse in the time period than the ill-fated October debut, the cross-dressing comedy falters out of the gate while NBC's "Biggest Loser" returns low and "NCIS" and "NCIS:LA" win the night for CBS.
ABC's panned midseason comedy, Work It, was tossed into the post-Last Man Standing slot Tuesday night like a sacrificial lamb.
And while it was the lowest performing original network entry between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m., it still managed to outperform dramas Body of Proof and Parenthood among adults 18-49. Work It posted a 2.0 in the key demo according to fast affiliate ratings. That's a 17 percent drop from both it's lead-in (Tim Allen's Last Man Standing) and the October debut if its time period predecessor Man-Up. The now canceled show debuted to a 2.4 rating among 18-49-ers.
CBS won the night in adults 18-49 and viewers, averaging a 3.4 in the demo and 16.2 million. NCIS matched its second best performance among 18-49-year-olds at 8:00 p.m., with a 4.2, while NCIS:LA had its best score in the demo, a 3.5, since the last week of October. Unforgettable finished the night with a 2.5.

NBC topped ABC with the return of The Biggest Loser. The 13th season of the weight loss competition drew a 2.3 among adults 18-49, a 30 percent drop from January 2011 when it posted a 3.3 rating. Parenthood fell to a 1.7 in the demo, giving the network an average 2.1 for the night and 5.9 million viewers.
After ABC's hour of man-related comedies, Celebrity Wife Swap entered its regular time slot with a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49. A new episode of Body of Proof, even with its series low score of a 1.7 in the key demo, gave the network an average 2.0 for the night. It topped NBC in viewers, grabbing 6.7 million.
Fox, still on hiatus, aired repeat episodes of its Tuesday lineup -- Glee, New Girl, Raising Hope -- to the tune of a 1.0 rating among 18-49-ers, while yet another back-to-back block of Secret Circle repeats netted a 0.3 for the CW.
