'Twilight' Star Joins ABC Drama Pilot 'Americana'
Ashley Greene will play a young designer on the soap about a fashion icon and his family business.
Twilight's Ashley Greene is staying put with ABC following a guest flight the network's Pan Am.
The actress best known as Alice Cullen in the Robert Pattinson-Kristen Stewart vampire saga, will co-star in the network's drama pilot Americana, a network source confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
Without a Trace's Anthony LaPaglia stars as legendary fashion designer Robert Soulter in the soapy drama revolving around his family business.
Greene will again play Alice, a new designer who joins Soulter's business and whose arrival turns the company -- and his family -- on its ear.
Lost's Emilie De Raven will play Robert's daughter, with Natalie Mendoza and Ken Olin also starring in the ABC Studios project. North Country's Michael Seitzman will pen the project and executive produce alongside Mark Gordon, Nick Pepper and Phillip Noyce, who will direct the pilot.
The casting follows Greene's five-episode arc on freshman period drama Pan Am.
Greene becomes the latest in a string of Twilight actors booking pilots. Chaske Spencer (Sam, the leader of Jacob's wolf pack) has NBC's Western drama pilot The Frontier, while Toni Trucks (aka Nomad coven member Mary) has joined CBS' legal drama pilot Baby Big Shot.
